Brownhoist Cider Bunker Will be Opening April 8th

Brownhoist Cider will be opening Monday April 8th!! This coincides with the total solar eclipse, and the Guardians home opener. The Cider Bunker is located at 4310 St Clair Avenue and these commemorative shirts are available for purchase on the shop page of this website.

Brownhoist Cider has been fully licensed to produce and sell hard Cider since February 2022. We grow and ferment our own apples from an abandoned orchard in Hiram Township Ohio. Our Orchard is 23 acres. No fertilizer nor pesticides are used in the growth of our apples. We believe we are the only Ohio Cider company that grows, picks, grinds, juices, ferments, cans, labels, and sells our own cider. Our ciders are not sweet. We offer a variety of flavors, mainly on the dry side. At our locations we provide free samples off all our ciders at no cost so you can try before you buy (we do have to make you pay for full glasses and cans, unfortunately). You can find our current menu on the shop page. We have no official hours, but are available at basically all reasonable times.

Brownhoist Cider is now being carried at the following fine Cleveland area restaurants:

Fat Cats in Tremont
Toast in Gordon Square
Mabels at East 4th
Mabels at Eaton Square
Pearl Street Market in Ohio City
Lava Lounge in Tremont
Soho on West 25th Street

Please support these fine establishments with obvious good taste that applies to their other food and drink.

Our Ciders tend dry, on the sour side, and a once and a while fruity, just like the owners. We are criminal defense attorneys. Therefore the names of the ciders, and can label designs, stem from legal concepts. This began as an inside joke between the owners. For instance, our main cider, the Reasonable Doubtin’ resulted from partner David Doughten’s nickname from his legal friends (Reasonable). Our main vintner Edwin Vargas wanted to try a dry hopped IPA. We did not know if people would like it, hence the name “Hung Jury”. And so on. The graphics on the cans depict the name and include an apple somewhere, a al Where’s Waldo.
